life-tim The art behind the sculpture... Each unique, LMA Sculpture is a one-of-a-kind full body polymer clay design, completely hand-crafted over a strong wire armature. A wire armature supports the structure and greatly increases its strength and long lasting durability. Molds are never used and all clothing and jewelry are designed and created by the artist. The hair on each doll is either dyed mohair or real human hair. With many of the sculptures, the realistic eyes are made of blown glass. Most recent sculptures have eyes that were hand-crafted by the artist out of polymer clay with incredible realism. Details of the hair and eyes are specified with each piece. These artistic dolls are not meant to be played with and, if handled with care, their beauty should last a life-time. I am happy to announce that my husband, Paul Grubb, is collaborating with me on my artwork. He has been designing and creating the shadow boxes and accessories (such as the vanity created for the "Evelyn" sculpture, which can be seen on Evelyn's web page).
